The mock up for her approval is made out of vinyl so she can make notes on it for changes. She slashed the cuff and did a tape job on it to get exactly the size she wanted. We’ll make the changes and have them ready for Great Western War in two weeks. She’ll be in her merchant’s booth (Bucky’s Stuff) with a new line of chain mail favors for the ladies to give their warriors to carry into battle.

They’ll be available in standard black and brown with the options for [...]]]> It looks like I can officially add a padded glove for the SCA fighters to what we can do. I’ve had several fighters test them in practice sessions and they’ve been pleased. Both the heavy weapon fighters and the fencers found them satisfactory. They’ll be available in standard black and brown with the options for colored cuffs. A coat of arms can be appliqued on to the cuffs for a very personal, custom look. They will have the look of a Elizabethan gauntlet, but will work for time periods from the 14th century through the 18th century. The only remaining problems is to scale the sizes for men and then to work on creating them for women.

It’s finally happened! I’ve found a craftsman who can produce a period fencing glove. After half a dozen disappointments, i have a glove with padding in the right places, flexible, and good looking. He can even create cuffs with a coat of arms appliqued on them. A long time coming but worth the effort.
